Does Rosalique work for psoriasis?

Does Rosalique work for psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a skin condition that makes your skin red, scaly, and itchy. It occurs when your immune system attacks your skin cells by mistake. This makes the skin cells grow too quickly, forming patches.

Some people have a little bit of psoriasis in small areas, while others have it all over their body. It can be uncomfortable and sometimes painful.

1) Is Rosalique suitable for psoriasis prone skin?

Rosalique was not formulated as a treatment for psoriasis, however this does not mean it's not suitable. Rosalique was designed for people with redness and sensitive skin which are two things that people who suffer with psoriasis experience.

2) Will I experience a flare up?

We always recommend that you do a patch test for any product before using it. This includes Rosalique! We have a dedicated blog on how to do a patch test, so please read through it before using Rosalique.

3) How can Rosalique help psoriasis?

Rosalique contains 5 active ingredients that work to improve redness and sensitivity while providing a concealing effect on the skin.

  • Panthenol - known for reducing inflammation and provides moisture for the skin. It improves dryness, itchiness, redness and scaling which is associated with psoriasis.
  • Shea butter - known for its moisturising effects. It helps to keep the skin moisturised which may help with some of the effects of psoriasis.
  • α- Bisabolol -  found in the German Chamomile plant and is proven to be anti-inflammatory, reduces redness and soothes red skin. These effects may be helpful for treating psoriasis symptoms
  • Zeolite -  known for its ability to trap and absorb toxins and heavy metals that can be found in the environment and get absorbed by the skin. These can then lead to redness and irritation. Zeolite is also known to calm the skin. These properties can be helpful for psoriasis flare ups.
  • Urea -  known to treat dry and rough skin conditions such as psoriasis. Urea is extremely hydrophilic, meaning it holds onto water molecules and keeps the skin moisturised. This can help with the dry patches that develop from psoriasis.

4) How should I apply Rosalique over psoriasis?

Skin affected by psoriasis is red, sensitive and flaky. This means that heavy products can affect the skin. We suggest applying Rosalique with minimal pressure. Use a gentle brush, such as our Miracle Brush and softly pat the product onto the skin. Avoid applying heavy pressure, as it can be harsh on the skin. Additionally, refrain from using powder on top of Rosalique, as it may cling to and accentuate dry patches.

5) My skin is extremely dry/flaky - how can I use Rosalique?

The most important part is to start by prepping your skin properly. Using a good moisturiser will help to minimise the dryness of the skin. We recommend our sister company's Bioskin DermaSerum moisturiser. This product was especially designed for dry and sensitive skin. It's the perfect intensive solution for extremely dry/flaky patches. Overall, you should do what you can to make your skin as hydrated as possible before applying Rosalique. Always make sure that the products have been properly absorbed before applying anything else.

6) Can I use it with my medicated cream?

In theory, yes. Rosalique is not itself a medicated treatment. However, we always recommend consulting your medication leaflet and, if you’re still unsure, contact your GP.
